The free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax clinic Milwaukee Area Technical College is officially open for tax season, and this year we're able to complete tax returns entirely virtually! MATC Accounting students and volunteers who are IRS-certified will be preparing and e-filing Federal and Wisconsin tax returns for taxpayers with household income of approximately $60,000 or less. The service is completely free and can be done virtually through getyourrefund.org/matc. Feel free to invite friends and family to use this service as well!

Accounting students who are interested in volunteering are supervised by MATC instructors. Students will have to pass an ethics and a basic tax preparation exam from the IRS.  For more information, please contact Nell Curtis curtisn@matc.edu or Danica Olson olsond38@matc.edu
