Thank you from MATC VITA 2024!

Hello MATC VITA Volunteers,

We truly appreciate all of the time and effort you put in to serve the community this tax season. With 41 volunteers, we successfully filed 515 federal tax returns and 561 state tax returnsa 67% increase in the total number of returns filed compared to last year. This work resulted in more than $800,000 in total refunds brought back to the greater Milwaukee and Wisconsin economies. But more importantly, we provided a free service that may otherwise cost hundreds of dollars, something that is not affordable for most of our clients. You all should be very proud!

We really appreciate all of the time and effort you put in to serve the community this tax season. With 32 volunteers, we successfully filed over 515 federal tax returns and nearly 561 state tax returnsa 67% increase in the total number of returns filed compared to last year, bringing more than $800,000 in total refunds to the greater Milwaukee and Wisconsin economies. But more importantly, we provided a free service to our clients that may otherwise cost hundreds of dollars, something that is not affordable for many. You all should be very proud!

We sent a survey to all clients who successfully filed their return with us. Of the nearly 100 respondents, 98% said they plan to use our service again next year and 99% said they would recommend the MATC VITA program to their friends and family. Respondents rated their overall satisfaction with MATC VITA at an average of 4.87 out of 5 (1 = not at all satisfied, 5 = very satisfied).

Thank you again for all of your hard work this tax season. We hope to have you back with VITA next year!

Summer and Fall 2024 Registration is Opening This Week!

MATC students currently enrolled in a degree/diploma program are first in line 🚢🏽‍♀️🚢🏿‍♂️! Priority registration starts this week. View flexible class options and get started: www.matc.edu/register

TYPES OF CLASSES AT MATC

MATC is committed to providing students with types of classes — formally called “instructional modalities” — that best meet their individual needs, while maintaining high quality standards in all courses.

An instructional modality reflects the way you attend the course such as attending in the classroom, fully online, or a combination of in-person and online for more flexibility. The instructional modalities identified on this page include definitions and other information you should be aware of when considering that type of course.

Please note the definition of synchronous and asynchronous learning as it is crucial to understanding each type:

Synchronous Online Delivery - Students participate in real time via videoconferencing (i.e., Blackboard Collaborate). Students attend at the same time as their instructor and classmates from their home or other location.

Asynchronous Online Delivery - Students participate at their own time and do not participate in real-time videoconferencing. Students have the flexibility to complete coursework within a set period of time, such as weekly.

Now is a great time to talk with an advisor or instructor!  Ask questions πŸ˜€
Make sure to setup your schedule for success.  It's OK to look at 8 week options - but balance with 16 week and also 8 week sessions that start later.
